Governor Bobby Jindal Announces Appointments to the Life Safety and Property Protection Advisory Board

BATON ROUGE, LA – September 22, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Life Safety and Property Protection Advisory Board.

The Louisiana Life Safety and Property Protection Advisory Board shall advise the state fire marshal in matters relating to the regulation of the certifying, inspecting, installation, integrating, selling, and servicing of life safety and property protection systems and equipment and to prohibit the use of life safety and property protection systems and equipment which are not properly labeled in accordance with the rules adopted by the state fire marshal in the interest of safeguarding lives and property.

The board shall be composed of twelve members, including eleven members appointed by the governor from a list of nominees submitted to the governor by the state fire marshal. Also, one member shall be an employee of the office of the state fire marshal designated by the fire marshal. Such member shall serve as the chairman of the board but shall not vote except in the event of a tie vote of the members present and voting.

Appointments to the Life Safety and Property Protection Advisory Board:

Stephen Elmore, of Denham Springs, is the system engineer for Custom Security Systems, Inc. and a member of the Louisiana Automatic Fire Alarm Association. Elmore will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Gerald Faulk, of Lafayette, is the manager of C&S Safety Systems of Louisiana, LLC and a member of the Louisiana Automatic Fire Alarm Association. Faulk will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Chad Himmel, of Baton Rouge, is the operations manager for Himmel’s Hardware and Cabinets, Inc. Himmel will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Alan Laguna, of Metairie, is the president of Merit Sprinkler Co., Inc. and a member of the Louisiana Fire Sprinkler Association and the National Fire Protection Association. Laguna will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Frankie LeDoux, of DeRidder, is the branch manager for S&S Sprinkler Company, LLC and the western region director for the Louisiana Automatic Fire Alarm Association. LeDoux will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Howard Naquin, of Destrehan, is a fire protection contractor for Sotec, LLC and a member of the Louisiana Automatic Fire Alarm Association. Naquin will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Jeffrey Okun, of New Orleans, is the president of Nuko Security. Okun will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.

Robert Reynolds, of Plaquemine, is the director of operations for SystemForward America, Inc., a franchiser of the Pop-A-Lock System. Reynolds will serve as a nominee of the state fire marshal, as required by statute.
