Traffic Advisory: Through Traffic on Conti St. at the Intersection of Bourbon St.

-

NEW ORLEANS – (RealEstateRama) — The City of New Orleans construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, will close Conti Street at the intersection of Bourbon Street to through traffic beginning Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 8 a.m. through sunset. The temporary closure is necessary for construction crews to identify the actual location of underground utilities that may have settled over time. Public safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site.

Drivers may use N. Rampart and Decatur Streets as alternate routes to Bourbon Street and Iberville or Toulouse Streets as alternate routes to Conti Street. Signage and traffic control measures such as barrels will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.

The $6 million French Quarter Infrastructure Improvement Project calls for removing and replacing existing water and drainage lines, repairing the sewer line, repaving the roadway in concrete, installing new sidewalks when necessary and installing American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.

A full description of the project scope is available at: http://roadwork.nola.gov/bourbon/ external link.
