Cassidy to Introduce Flood Insurance Protection Amendment

-

WASHINGTON, DC – June 3, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. today announced he will introduce an amendment to the FY 2014 Homeland Security Appropriations bill to protect America’s home owners from rate increases in the National Flood Insurance Program.

“Biggert-Waters made flood insurance accessible. Yet, it’s being interpreted in a way that may make flood insurance unaffordable for some homeowners. That’s why I will be introducing an amendment to FY 2014 Homeland Security Appropriations to prevent funds from being used to implement Section 207.  This an important step in the right direction. Flood insurance is a national issue, it impacts communities across our country and we have a responsibility to protect homeowners from New Jersey to Louisiana.”
