City Department of Parks and Parkways, Sewerage & Water Board, NOLA Tree Project to Give Away up to 1000 Free Trees

NEW ORLEANS – December 07, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Tomorrow, the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways will host the Big TREEsy Giveaway presented by Entergy and in conjunction with NOLA Tree Project and the Sewerage and Water Board.

Up to 1,000 trees are available, and each household is eligible to receive two free trees on a first-come, first-serve basis with additional trees available for purchase at $15 each and fruit trees at $35 each. There are thirty types of trees to choose from including Bald Cypress, Pond Cypress, Live Oak, Sycamore, Brown Turkey Fig, Southern Pecan, Southern Magnolia, Crape Myrtles and more.

The event will be programmed with guest lecturers and activities for children. Additionally, Parks and Parkways staff will be available to offer expertise in selection and placement of trees as well as planting information. See the attached flyer for more details.
