Governor Jindal said, “Water infrastructure investments are vital to improving the quality of life for our people in Mansura, as well as helping to support economic development. This loan will expand Mansura’s collection system and make this area more attractive to businesses who want to invest in our state. That’s why we’ve supported more than $1 million in water projects in Avoyelles Parish since 2008, and we’ll continue supporting infrastructure projects throughout Louisiana to improve infrastructure in communities and keep our economy strong.”

The DEQ Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program provides loans to local municipalities for vital water infrastructure improvements to ensure safe and clean wastewater infrastructure.

The Governor said the loan will fund the expansion of Mansura’s current sewer collection system. The project will install more than 10,600 linear feet of gravity sewer and sewer force mains along the La. 1 corridor. Construction is estimated to begin in October of this year.
