Governor Jindal Awards $110,000 in Grants to Richland Parish

RAYVILLE, LA – December 17, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Governor Bobby Jindal awarded four grants totaling $110,000 to Richland Parish that will go towards infrastructure improvements. Governor Jindal awarded the funds to local officials in a ceremonial check presentation during an event in Rayville.

Governor Bobby Jindal said, “With this funding, our local communities can make critical investments to improve and maintain the sort of water infrastructure that our citizens rely on for their day to day lives.”

Governor Jindal awarded the following four Community Water Enrichment Fund grants:

  • The Town of Delhi received a $35,000 to replace water piping on Chicago Street;
  • The Richland Parish Police Jury received a $25,000 to repaint the River Road water tank;
  • The Richland Parish Police Jury received a $25,000 to rehabilitate the Archibald System water well; and
  • The Richland Parish Police Jury received a $25,000 to install water line.

The Community Water Enrichment Fund was established in the 2008 Louisiana regular legislative session to ensure safe and clean drinking water. The CWEF aids units of local government solely for the purpose of rehabilitation, improvement, and construction projects for community water systems
