Rep. Richmond Statement on Road Home Program Announcement

-

New Orleans, LA – August 26, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Today Rep. Richmond (LA-02) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced its plan to address issues within the Road Home Homeowner Assistance program:

“I commend the administration for making these necessary changes,” said Rep. Richmond. “I have been engaging the President on our Road Home concerns for some time, including during my trip to Africa with him earlier this month.  There is no better time to announce these changes than during the 10 year commemoration of Katrina and Rita. I thank the President and Secretary Castro for hearing our concerns and providing an opportunity for our residents to regain financial security as well as peace of mind.”

“While today’s announcement is welcome news, I will continue to engage all stakeholders to ensure those residents who were shortchanged by the Road Home program’s flawed formula are ultimately made whole.”
