City Issues Filming Notice for Residents Downtown and Central City

NEW ORLEANS – (RealEstateRama) — The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices for residents Downtown and Central City.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., a production company will film exterior scenes on the corner of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard and Felicity Street. As a result, the intersection of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard and Felicity Street will be closed during the specified time.

Bus service will be suspended on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Jackson Avenue during filming. Please check norta.com for alternate routes.

Additionally, on Monday, Nov. 27 between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., a production company will film exterior scenes on the 100 block of Baronne Street. The sequence being filmed will include simulated gunfire and explosions. As a result, Baronne Street between Common Street and Canal Street will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Law enforcement officers will be on site to ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.

Film New Orleans, within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

In 2016, New Orleans hosted 50 film tax credit projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000) with direct spending of roughly $423 million.
