City, S&WB Host Preview of New Water Towers at Carrollton Water Plant
Latest improvement to make the water system more resilient and
help mitigate boil water advisories
NEW ORLEANS –- (RealEstateRama) — Tomorrow, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join Sewerage and Water Board (S&WB), city and state officials, and community members at the Carrollton Water Plant (8800 South Claiborne Ave.) to preview and tour the water tower construction project.
The $50 million project includes two new 200 foot tall water tanks that will hold 4 million gallons of water. In the event of complete power loss the towers will provide uninterrupted water pressure and continuous water service to the city. This infrastructure investment makes the City’s water supply and this facility more resilient and will help mitigate any future boil water advisories.
