JEANERETTE, La. – (RealEstateRama) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced today that beginning Saturday, February 11, crews will begin the process to shift traffic on its I-49 South project in Jeanerette.

On Saturday, February 11, the left lane of U.S. 90 near its intersection with La. 318 will be reduced to one lane, in the eastbound direction, to allow crews to restripe lanes in order to shift traffic. Once striping is complete, traffic will be shifted to the new eastbound ramp. The lane closure is estimated to take place from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $56 million design-build project that involves upgrading the existing U.S. 90 and La. 318 signalized intersection to a full control of access, grade-separated interchange including the reconstruction of the U.S. 90 frontage roads to provide local access to La. 318. Construction began in March 2016, and is estimated for completion in fall 2017.
