Governor Bobby Jindal Announces Appointments to the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission

BATON ROUGE, LA – December 29, 2008 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission.

The Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission serves to conduct periodic inspections of manufactured homes on dealer lots, handle consumer complaints relative to manufactured homes, and issue licenses to manufacturers, retailers, developers, salesmen, and installers.

According to statute, the commission is comprised of seven members, subject to senate confirmation. One member must be appointed from each of the five public service commission districts and two members are appointed at-large. Of the seven members, three must be selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association.

Appointments to the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission:

Tim Duplantis, of Houma, is the owner of Gulf South Homes, Inc., and is a member of the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association. Duplantis was nominated by the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association to represent the 2nd Public Service Commission, as required by statute.

Rose Hilliard, of Wisner, is a former sales manager for Diamonds Homes, a manufactured housing company. Hilliard was reappointed to serve as an at-large member who lives in a manufactured home, as required by statute.

Donna Inhern, of Opelousas, is the president of Jim Tatman’s Mobile Homes, Inc., a manufactured housing company. Inhern was nominated for reappointment by the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association to represent the 4th Public Service Commission, as required by statute.

Calvin Klein, of Covington, is a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves and the president of Calvin Klein Mobile Homes, Inc. Klein was reappointed to represent the 1st Public Service Commission, as required by statute.

Gary Millet, Sr., of Gonzales, is the president of Rollin’ Homes, a manufactured housing company, and has over two decades experience in the field. Millet was nominated for reappointment by the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association to represent the 3rd Public Service Commission, as required by statute.

Johnny Mouton, of Iowa, is the vice president of United Homes, Inc., a manufactured housing company, and is a notary public. Mouton will serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.

Bobby Parks, of West Monroe, is a managing member of Healthy Homes of Louisiana, LLC, a manufactured housing company, and formerly served on the State Board of Directors for the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association. Parks will serve as a representative of the 5th Public Service Commission, as required by statute.
