Governor Bobby Jindal Announces the Appointment of Neal Miller to the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency
BATON ROUGE, LA – July 22, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Neal Miller to the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency.
The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency serves to undertake various programs to assist in the financing of housing needs in the state of Louisiana for persons of low to moderate incomes.
According to statute, the agency is comprised of 15 members, including the secretary of the Department of Social Services or their designee and the state treasurer. Additionally, the speaker of the House of Representatives and the president of the Senate each appoint one member. The remaining eleven members are the following gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation:
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Bankers Association;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Home Builders Association;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Realtors Association;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Housing Council;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Apartment Association of Louisiana;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana AFL-CIO;
- One member selected from nominations submitted by the Realtists Association of Louisiana; and
- Three at-large members.
Neal Miller, of Baton Rouge, is the business agent for Local Union #198 Plumbers and Steamfitters and the president of the Baton Rouge Building and Construction Trades Council. Miller was nominated by the Louisiana AFL-CIO, as required by statute.
