Louisiana Housing Corporation Announces Board Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman; Re-appointment of Members
BATON ROUGE, LA – September 25, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) announced today that Mayson Foster has been elected to his second term as chairman of the corporation’s board of directors, and Malcom Young, Jr., CAE, RCE has been elected vice-chairman.
Chairman Foster served as Mayor of Hammond for 12 years until his retirement in 2014. He has held a variety of leadership positions in the banking industry and retired as President and Chief Operating Officer of Deposit Guaranty Bank of Louisiana in 1997.
Vice Chairman Young is the founder and president of a non-profit consulting company, “Young Directions,” which focuses on strategic planning, governance and advocacy. He is active in housing issues on the federal and state level and advises several federal housing groups. He was awarded the William R. Magel Award for Distinguished Service by the National Association of Realtors.
The LHC also announced the re-appointment of board members Dr. Daryl Burckel, Ellen Lee and Matthew Richie.

The LHC is governed by a board of 11 members composed of the State Treasurer, two members appointed by the President of the Senate, two members appointed by the Speaker of the House, and six members appointed by the Governor representing various housing sectors and the public. The chairman and vice chairman of the board each serve a one-year term, and annual elections are held in July.
