Mayor Landrieu to participate in Iberville Redevelopment groundbreaking

NEW ORLEANS, LA – October 21, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, along with Federal, state and local officials, will participate in a groundbreaking for the redevelopment of the Iberville Housing Development.

The redevelopment of the Iberville community is a unique collaboration of Federal, state and local government coming together to transform one of New Orleans’ largest communities. In 2011, HUD announced that the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and the city of New Orleans will receive $30.5 million through the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) to redevelop the distressed housing at the Iberville Housing Development and revitalize the Treme neighborhood.
