METAIRIE, LA – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.) today announced he will lead a bipartisan congressional delegation on his ninth annual Offshore Energy Tour. On May 11, the delegation will meet with stakeholders from the energy industry, tour an offshore production platform and drilling rig, take part in a roundtable discussion with local energy and oilfield services industry leaders, discuss the importance of revenue sharing and Louisiana’s coastal restoration efforts, visit with offshore workers and participate in an aerial tour of the Louisiana coast.
Congressman Scalise will be joined by the following Members of Congress for the 2017 Offshore Energy Tour:
Congressman Gene Green (D-Texas), Congresswoman Jenniffer González-Colón (R-PR), Congressman David Rouzer (R-NC), and Congressman Filemon Vela (D-TX).
“Experiencing offshore energy production up close and in-person is crucial for understanding the positive impact American energy has on our local communities, the economy and national security. For the last nine years, I have been honored to lead this tour with diverse groups of my colleagues, so that they may understand the critical importance this industry plays in the lives of hardworking Americans all over the country. I will continue to bring Members of Congress from across the country down to southeast Louisiana to witness how energy is produced safely in the Gulf of Mexico, to show them how energy development and other important industries can coexist and thrive alongside each other, and to allow them to see first-hand how energy production creates good paying jobs and strengthens America’s national security.”
