Governor Bobby Jindal Announces the Appointment of Lynda Nugent Smith to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission

BATON ROUGE – March 27, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Lynda Nugent Smith to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.

The commission serves to protect the public interest in real estate transactions and other real estate related activities.

According to statute, the commission is comprised of eleven members appointed by the governor, including:

  • One member appointed from each of the seven Supreme Court districts;
  • Two members appointed at-large;
  • One member appointed from either the Fourth or the Fifth Congressional District; and
  • One member appointed from either the First, Second, Third, Sixth, or Seventh Congressional District.

Lynda Nugent Smith, of New Orleans, is a realtor and broker for Keller Williams Realty and was formerly a broker manager for Gertrude Gardner, Inc.  Smith will be appointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.
