Governor Bobby Jindal Announces the Reappointment of Senator Dan “Blade” Morrish to the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Directors
BATON ROUGE, LA – March 12, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the reappointment of Senator Dan “Blade” Morrish to the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Directors.
The Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Directors is responsible for operating insurance plans which provide property insurance for residential and commercial property for applicants who are in good faith entitled, but are unable to procure insurance through the voluntary market.
According to statute, the commission is comprised of fifteen members, nine of which are gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation, including:
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the Louisiana Bankers Association;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the Louisiana Home Builders Association;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the Louisiana District Attorneys Association;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, or its successor;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the American Insurance Association, or its successor;
- One member selected from the nominations submitted by the largest domestic property insurer in the state; and
- Two at-large members.
Senator Dan “Blade” Morrish, of Jennings, is a Louisiana state senator representing the 25th District. Morrish will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute
