NORDC Continues Movies in the Park This Week

NEW ORLEANS – (RealEstateRama) — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will continue the 2016 spring season of Movies in the Park this weekend with a double feature. On Friday, April 1 with “Jurassic World” will be featured at Hardin Playground, 2500 New Orleans St. and on Saturday, April 2, “Maleficent” will be featured at Comiskey Playground, 600 S. The Movies in the Park series features free, family-friendly outdoor movie screenings at NORDC playgrounds for residents across the City. NORDC partners with playground booster clubs and community organizations that help promote the events.

The movies will begin at sunset, between 6:45 and 7:15 p.m., weather permitting. Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early for fun fitness activities with instructors from Fit NOLA at NORDC.

The screenings are free and open to the public. Moviegoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics.

CEO of Southern Theatres and New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation Board Member George Solomon contributed nearly $50,000 to the Movies in the Park program. This support will be used for industry licensing, marketing, as well as new equipment and supplies.
