Big Wins for Louisiana in WRDA 2016
U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.) issued the following statement regarding today’s passage of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 (WRDA) out of the U.S. Senate. WRDA 2016 will help improve flood control, water infrastructure development, and coastal hurricane protection throughout Louisiana. After today’s overwhelmingly bipartisan passage, the legislation will head to the House of Representatives, who could vote on the legislation next week. As Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Vitter was essential in authoring and advancing WRDA 2016.
Vitter Announces $2.6M for Infrastructure Improvements to Louisiana Airports
U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will be awarding multiple grants totaling $2,356,267 to fund projects to improve Louisiana airports in Concordia, Richland, and Bossier Parishes. Additionally, the State of Louisiana will receive a grant of $300,000 to conduct a study identifying Louisiana airports with additional development needs. The Federal Aviation Administration will be responsible for allocating the funding to the State of Louisiana and all three airports.
Robottom Recommends Contracts to Improve Public Safety, Infrastructure and Services
With a focus on improving public safety and critical infrastructure, Parish President Natalie Robottom recommended numerous contract awards at the Finance Committee meeting. An agreement for management of the Community Center was also on the agenda.

Governor Jindal Announces $4.6 Million in Louisiana Community Development Block Grants in Northeast Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, LA - June 12, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Governor Bobby Jindal announced nine Louisiana Community Development Block Grants (LCDBG) totaling $4,656,862 today. The governor said the grants have been awarded to communities throughout Northeast Louisiana in the form of public facilities grants to be used for infrastructure projects.
