City of New Orleans to auction five properties

NEW ORLEANS, LA - November 18, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- On Friday, December 13, the City of New Orleans will auction five City-owned properties in the City Hall Council Chambers at 10:00 a.m. The Department of Property Management through the Division of Real Estate and Records will conduct the auction. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.

City’s “soft second” mortgage homebuyer assistance initiative passes halfway point milestone

NEW ORLEANS, LA - November 7, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that the City of New Orleans’ $52.3 million “soft second” mortgage homebuyer assistance initiative’ Direct Homebuyer Assistance Program has now issued 500 commitments totaling $27,466,430.14. In total, 437 home purchases by first time homebuyers have been completed through the success of the City’s soft second mortgage program.

HUD APPROVES DISASTER RECOVERY PLANS IN LOUISIANA

WASHINGTON, D.C. - November 6, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today approved several disaster recovery plans throughout the State of Louisiana totaling $91.7 million to help local communities to recover from Hurricane Isaac in August of 2012. These disaster plans will rely on grants provided earlier this year through HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
