RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY WOODMERE COMMUNITY CENTER
WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 9, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — A Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held Friday, June 12, 2015, at 11:00am, to celebrate the opening of the Woodmere Community Center, located inside the Woodmere Park at Edgewood and Post Streets in Harvey.
The Woodmere Community Center building includes a covered entrance, lobby and reception area, main assembly area, Administration office, a conference room, kitchen, restrooms and a large rear exterior covered pavilion. The Center has an interior area of 3,423 square feet with an additional 1,391 square feet of outdoor space.
The existing Woodmere Park has a walking track, play area equipment, two shelters and mature trees. The Community Center is nestled between the existing trees on the current site of the northern most shelter. The existing parking lot has been expanded to provide additional parking spaces. The Community Center will be used by the surrounding community as a place for access to parish provided assistance services, as well as a rentable location for events such as baby showers and group meetings.
J.A. Jack Julius, Jr. constructed the Woodmere Community Center at an estimated cost of $1,248,000. After the Ribbon Cutting, boiled crawfish will be provided by Councilman Mark Spears.
