NEW ORLEANS – June 4, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the state Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), has cancelled the boil water advisory for residents and businesses in English Turn and Lower Coast Algiers. The advisory was cancelled after the bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area was safe to drink and could be used as normal for personal needs.
Customers are advised to flush their internal and external plumbing by running water through their system.
The original advisory issued on Monday, June 1, 2015 was out of an abundance of caution by S&WB in consultation with DHH.
S&WB Executive Director Cedric Grant said, “We are pleased that the tests proved negative and that we can cancel the boil water advisory at this time. We issued the advisory in the best interest of our customers to ensure their health and safety. I commend the professional work of our employees and the excellent cooperation from DHH officials, as well as other agencies. And of course we thank the residents and businesses in English Turn and Lower Coast Algiers for their patience and understanding.”
