Bossier City, Louisiana, Housing Authority Agrees to Pay $120,000 and Implement Reforms to Settle...

The Justice Department announced today that the Bossier City, Louisiana, Housing Authority (BCHA) has agreed to pay $120,000 and adopt new policies and practices to settle a lawsuit alleging that it discriminated on the basis of race and disability, in violation of the Fair Housing Act.  The settlement must still be approved by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana

Boustany Supports Storm Protection and Coastal Restoration for Louisiana

Dr. Charles Boustany (R-Lafayette) supported passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2016 (H.R. 5303). This vital legislation authorizes United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) projects and activities to improve maritime infrastructure, support specific flood protection projects, and continue coastal restoration efforts in Louisiana. WRDA has passed the House by a vote of 399 – 25. The bill now heads to conference with S. 2848, which cleared the Senate by a vote of 95 – 3 earlier this month
