Traffic Advisory: Intersection of Bourbon and Conti Streets, 200 Block Full Closure

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works’ construction contractor will close the intersection of Conti Street at Bourbon Street to through traffic beginning Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 8 a.m. for approximately two weeks. The closure will allow construction crews to install new underground utilities as part of the French Quarter Infrastructure Improvement Project. Public safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site

City Releases French Quarter Safety & Security Traffic Study

The City of New Orleans released the French Quarter Safety & Security Traffic Study, which includes proposed recommendations to help reduce public safety risks in the French Quarter. The recommendations are linked to and support the comprehensive strategy of public safety and infrastructure investments outlined in the New Orleans Citywide Public Safety Improvements Plan, which is designed to ensure that the City is better prepared to prevent and react to public safety threats.
